A bit disheartened.

Weekly Report: 4/2 - 4/8

For me, last week basically consisted of finalizing my invitation and the material I am using for my exoskeleton. I’m deciding between four to five composites. Currently, my plan is to create a spreadsheet of all the requirements of the material and to rank each possible composite from 1-5, with 5 being the best. Ultimately, the “best” composite should have the highest score. This allows me to decide on the material without any of my personal biases getting involved. It also helps me weigh all the requirements evenly and make the most informed decision possible. Also, many engineers use spreadsheets for this exact purpose and it’ll be nice for me to get accustomed to it and I feel like I’m adding a tiny bit more of engineering to my final product.

This friday I have a visit planned with my mentor. Hopefully this will be the visit that kick starts the design engineering aspect because I have fallen behind. I feel like I’m slowly losing more and more motivation, so hopefully this mentor visit can get me excited again for my final product, ISM, and engineering as a whole. I’m pretty anxious and worried about designing my product. I really have NO idea how design engineering works, but I guess I need to figure it out soon enough to be able to finish my product in time.

Another thing I am worried about is how AP tests, final product, my job, and the two middle school ISM presentations are going to fall in place. It’s all basically the same two weeks, which worries me. Thankfully I get some time after testing to work on final product and honestly that the one thing that is comforting me.
