This short week focused on piecing together my board and handing out invitations. I am getting ready for the research showcase and it is basically my complete focus. I needed to edit all of my weekly reports to add the dates of the weeks to make the linear timeline of my portfolio clearer.
I realized the importance of minute details the past few days. It took a full six trips to both Hobby Lobby and Michaels to finally get everything I needed. After every trip, I realized I wanted something else to add to my board or my portfolio.
I also reached out to the people I interviewed with and dropped off my invitations to the research showcase. I also reached out to my middle school teachers and principal, which was definitely the highlight of my week. I forgot how much I loved Pioneer and the staff there. It was nice to get back in touch with them and to talk to them about everything I’ve accomplished in ISM this year, eventually convincing them to come out and support me and the program at the showcase.
This next week will be very stressful. I need to get further on my original work. I also need to officially ask Armstrong Ekpete to be my mentor. I’m just worried that there will be a lot of complications since he works for the Department of Defense, so I would need to get clearance to meet with him in his workplace.
I am beyond excited for the research showcase, it’s all that’s on my mind these days. I’m practically dreaming about it.
