The tortoise won, not the hare.

The past week of ISM was kind of slow, but that is about to change. These upcoming weeks include presentations and our original work proposals. On Thursday, I am going to have to present all the research and knowledge I’ve accumulated in the past three months. My biggest issue with the presentation is going to be the timing. Because there is so much information to cover, the presentation will be 10-12 minutes long, and I simply have not done a presentation that long all by myself. I also tend to sound out of breath when I talk because I kinda get over excited and start talking real fast. That is the biggest thing I need to work on.

On Sunday, John Harkins emailed me some contacts. He left me the number of Corrie Hunt, his old boss at Boeing during the space station program. I plan on calling her tomorrow during after I get off from school to try to schedule an interview. I haven’t talked to any engineers who work at big commercial companies so landing an interview with Ms. Hunt will be very exciting.

I also have another interview with Mr. Harkins. He reached out to me in the aforementioned email and we set up an interview. I need to ask him more questions about his work in the space station program and flesh out original work ideas. I have a lot of questions from our last meeting, so meeting with him again will be really helpful and broaden my horizons.
